DTU Sustain is looking for an experienced strategy and communication profile who will help shape and communicate a common culture and sense of a shared mission for the department
The job
In this role, you will act as senior advisor on strategic leadership and executive communication on internal matters, focusing on supporting the Head of Department in collaboration with the Management Group. You will drive and execute a broad range of strategic communication activities, engage across global functions, and work with stakeholders internally at DTU Sustain as well as externally when relevant.
Main tasks include:
- Planning and developing leadership and executive communication activities and key messaging, with a focus on Head of Department support
- Create executive communication for internal as well as external activities when relevant, collaborating with appropriate functions and communication colleagues across DTU
- Support our communication activities by engaging employees in departmental activities related to research, education, innovation, and scientific advice
- Arranging cross-sectional workshops with follow-ups and creating and facilitating strategic (translational) communication with outside stakeholders
- Planning and developing content for internal and external channels
Your qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with a relevant academic degree in communications, combined with a solid business understanding and documented experience within strategic internal communication from an agency, company, or organization.
Additionally, we expect you to have:
- A proven track record of advising senior and top management, preferably also experience from the university sector
- An innovative mind-set with experience in inspiring thought leadership on culture, values, and leadership
- Experience with change management and communication during organizational changes
- Ability to combine strategic insight with tactical execution – with an eye for details
- Strong strategic and analytical skills
- Tech insight, understanding, and leveraging opportunities in digital communication – for example, via LinkedIn.
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
- The flexibility and enthusiasm to cover activities at the Department, from high-profile formal events to hands-on studies in construction sites and land fields
We are looking for someone with impeccable English writing skills who delivers best-in-class material and can craft compelling messages, distill the essential points, and create 'the good story.'
You should also have strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to engage and interact with a range of diverse audiences on a global level.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). You will be employed as a Senior Officer.
The position is part-time – 25 hours per week. The starting date is 1 February 2025 (or according to mutual agreement).
The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
