IT Support Apprentice

Would you like to turn your IT education and interest in technology into practical experience? Do you enjoy solving problems and helping people? As our new IT Support Apprentice, you will work with current workplace technologies, support colleagues on-site in Esbjerg and build a strong foundation for your future career in IT.

Your position

You will join the local IT team at Semco Maritime and help colleagues with the technology they rely on in their daily work. The role combines user support, device preparation, troubleshooting and follow-up, giving you varied tasks and direct contact with users across the organisation.

Your first period will include a mix of shadowing colleagues and handling simpler tasks. As you build experience and confidence, you will troubleshoot more independently and take greater responsibility for following support cases and practical assignments through to completion. You will learn through hands-on tasks, guidance and knowledge-sharing with experienced colleagues.

Your primary workplace will be Semco Maritime, Esbjerg Brygge 30, 6700 Esbjerg, and the role is mainly on-site. You will also collaborate with colleagues in the wider international IT setup, including our English-speaking IT Service team in Manila.

Your tasks & responsibilities

As an IT Support Apprentice, you will contribute to dependable day-to-day IT support and help keep people and projects moving. Your tasks will develop as you gain experience and may include:

  • Providing on-site support and helping colleagues resolve day-to-day IT issues
  • Setting up, preparing and maintaining Windows 11 computers, iPhones, iPads and peripherals throughout the device lifecycle
  • Troubleshooting computers, mobile devices, hardware and other workplace equipment
  • Supporting meeting rooms and helping ensure that equipment is ready for meetings
  • Assisting with accounts, access and software using Microsoft Entra ID, Intune and Autopilot
  • Helping users with Microsoft 365, Teams and access to business applications such as IFS, involving the responsible team when needed
  • Registering, documenting and following up tickets so users receive clear information and reliable support
  • Maintaining documentation, inventory information and accurate device records

Your profile & qualifications

You do not need to know every system from the beginning. What matters is that you are interested in IT, willing to ask questions and motivated to learn. You enjoy helping people and understand that reliable support includes listening, communicating clearly and following through.

To succeed in the position, we imagine that you are:

  • Enrolled in the IT Supporter programme and ready to begin the apprenticeship stage
  • Team-oriented and willing to collaborate and share knowledge
  • Service-minded and able to listen, understand and help users
  • Self-driven and prepared to take initiative and follow tasks through
  • Communicative and comfortable using English when needed
  • Curious, positive and motivated to keep learning
